This interview with Mike McCready and Eddie Vedder in 1992 from Pearl jam really allows the viewer to understand what it was that they wanted their music to be able to do for the people to listen to it. They clearly state that they want people to able to have a release for all the stress that comes about from all directions of life, and they want their music to allow people to do just this. You can tell from Eddie talking about how some people need music to “just get it out.”, that he’s got a passion for writing songs that allow people to do just that, get it out. This shows how Pearl Jam really set down a path for a new age of grunge music for generations to listen and relate to.
In Duke Ellington's autobiography "Music is my Mistress" Duke outlines how he got to where he did through friendships that he made along the way as well as the many influences he had in his life, including his wife and the many people he had play in his band.
When Pearl Jam took Ticket Master to court in 1994, it was an eye opener to some in the music industry. Although they did lose the case it was the fact that Pearl Jam stood up for what they believed was right is what should be taken away from the incident. The final verdict was reached on June 30th, 1994.

This interview with Duke Ellington about the Swedish tours he was going on in 1963, allows you to see the kind of man he was and how he enjoyed touring across the waters and performing with all the "giants" as he calls them. He talks about how he gets his kicks through performing across the waters, and touring in Europe. He talks about his style of music a little after being asked about a repetition in his music. He goes on in the second part of the interview to talk about how he came to be the man he is today, declining the college scholarship and all the things that he had gone through by the time. He starts to talk about to the significance of the civil rights movements on the way.
In another more recent interview with John Mayer in 2012 about his new "Born and Raised" album, John talks about his inspiration to follow his instincts of writing songs in a new folk album. Mayer talks about how his original style of music was unique yet he was always waiting to experiment with his style in a more blues way. Wanting to throw himself a curve ball he started messing around with the acoustic guitar and allow his style to be re-developed all over again.
